After more hours in airplane and airports than I’d have liked, and dragging my luggage around in 90 degree heat at 75% humidity, I go to my Airbnb lodgings for the Hong Kong week, looked at it, and said “fuck this”. It was little more than a thin futon in a glorified closet. The host wasn’t there to introduce himself, the bathroom was tiny, I just couldn’t do it. So I hopped online and found a hotel. I’m now staying at a hotel in Kowloon for the week and slept from 2:30am until 11am. I’m not sure if I even want to leave the room today.  Air conditioning FTW.

  1. Tomorrow will be better. Explore TripAdvisor for some ideas. Stay cool. Humidity can get you, so try to get used to it gradually.

  2. Make sure to cancel this place on Airbnb on time, so you’ll be ending up only paying one night or even none (if it isn’t like it was advertised). Wishing you good luck from Tokyo.

    • Thanks Patric! Yes, I made sure to cancel that booking right away. Unfortunately, due to the cancellation policy, I don’t think I’m due much of a refund.
