I’m a little sad to be leaving Copenhagen behind me.  It’s an amazing city.  I would love to spend more time there, but it is time to move along.

I will not much miss Hong Kong.  I really could have seen everything I wanted to in 2-3 days, 7 was way more than I needed.  At the bottom of this post are my pictures from Sunday, where I took a bus tour of “Introduction to Hong Kong”.

Somewhere in my travels in Hong Kong, most likely the night I arrived, our brave Butterbeer made a daring escape from my backpack pocket. He will likely never be seen again, and I wish him good luck in his new life and hope he makes someone happy.

Butterbeer, we hardly knew ye.

Didn’t have any plans for the day.  Was going to try to find a bus tour of Hong Kong and Kowloon, but failed at that because the travel office was closed and online research was ineffectual.  I ended up wandering around Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood for a bit, ostensibly trying to find a place to buy some post cards.  Eventually I remembered seeing something about a cable car (with pictures of a gondola car) on the MTR map, so I decided to go check it out.

After more hours in airplane and airports than I’d have liked, and dragging my luggage around in 90 degree heat at 75% humidity, I go to my Airbnb lodgings for the Hong Kong week, looked at it, and said “fuck this”. It was little more than a thin futon in a glorified closet. The host wasn’t there to introduce himself, the bathroom was tiny, I just couldn’t do it. So I hopped online and found a hotel. I’m now staying at a hotel in Kowloon for the week and slept from 2:30am until 11am. I’m not sure if I even want to leave the room today.  Air conditioning FTW.
